The Great Poet Audre Lorde

In her essay "Scratching the Surface" , Audre Lorde, late twentieth century barometer of truth, discussed the importance of biodiversity and the dangers and poisons of prejudice.

She writes: " Racism, Sexism, Heterosexism,Homophobia. The above forms of human blindness stem from the same root; an inability to recognize the notion of difference as a dynamic human force, one which is enriching rather than threatening to the defined self, when there are shared goals."
